Paolo joins Pao-Papa for a work trip to Pune a prominent city in Western India. Pune exemplifies the traditional culture, modern lifestyle, ancient architecture, scenic landscapes and exotic cuisine that India offers. Pao-Papa has a colleague Manish who takes Paolo and Pao-Papa on a trip to explore Pune on the weekend.
Paolo, Pao-Papa and Manish visit the Shivneri fort which is the birth place of Emperor Shivaji the founder of the Maratha Empire. Manish then takes them to a local school named City Pride where students are working on environmental sustainability. The students practice pouring left over water chemically referred to as H2O from their water bottles into drums placed at the school gate. Paolo was intrigued and asked a student why they did this. The student explained that the water collected in the drums was used to nourish and hydrate the plants in the school premises. Paolo applauded this simple yet virtuous act by the students.
Paolo learned that small acts collectively make a big impact in conserving and reallocating our precious resources. Paolo started applying intelligent measures to preserve natural resources in our environment. He kept the water tap and shower in the bathroom at low strength when in use. What are you doing to preserve water?
